About Yellow River Landscaping

Yellow River Landscaping is a full-service lawn care and landscaping company based in Covington, GA, serving Covington, Oxford, Monroe, and Social Circle. Established in 2021, the company was founded by two locals who grew up in the area and understand what it takes to keep properties here looking their best year-round.

At Yellow River Landscaping, everything centers around raising the standard for outdoor work in the community. The focus stays on delivering consistent results, reliable service, and building long-term relationships with the people we work with across the Covington community and surrounding areas.

We met long before starting Yellow River Landscaping, first playing youth flag football at the Covington YMCA and later reconnecting freshman year at Eastside High School. Life was pretty typical until 2020 changed everything. With online school, we had more free time and started looking for opportunities.

After our junior year, we both got jobs at Master Landscape Supply, where our lawn and landscaping journey began. At first, we knew very little about the industry. With help from Mark Smith and Tim Reed, we learned quickly and built a strong knowledge base, even though we were still gaining real experience.

At Master’s, we spent most of our time helping customers and loading materials for contractors. Occasionally, people would ask if we could handle small jobs like planting, mulching, or pine straw. We started taking those on for extra money, and that’s when we saw the opportunity. Throughout 2020, we worked at Master’s while picking up smaller jobs on the side.

In March of 2021 is when we first decided to take the leap and start Yellow River Landscaping. We left Master’s and started working for ourselves. This time was hard, we didn’t have much work and were still in high school. We would spend half the day in class and half the day working because we were a part of Eastside’s work-based learning program. 

Since March of 2021 we have continuously improved all aspects of our business. We are 100% devoted to our mission to raise the standard. Throughout the years we have learned success comes from three key elements: a strong team, quality work, and outstanding customer service. One can't exist without the others, and we’re committed to delivering all three with every job. We have taken the steps to recruit and hire the best people, who will do the best work, so we can give our community the best customer experience.

In 2025, we’ll keep improving to deliver quality work, stay professional, and build strong, lasting relationships in our community.

Matt Autry started with Yellow River Landscaping in July 2023 as a Lawn Care Crew Member. In just over 2 years, he’s worked his way up through nearly every position we have, including Crew Member, Crew Lead, Landscape Crew, Landscape Crew Lead, and now we’re thrilled to announce his newest role as our Estimator.
